Curtis Davis, a cherished father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at the age of 47, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on September 28, 1978, in Lansing, Michigan, Curtis was the beloved son of Shannon and Marcus Davis, who predeceased him. Curtis grew up in Lansing, where he attended Everett High School, one of the city's historic educational institutions. It was here that he began to develop his remarkable sense of humor and a passion for music that would remain with him throughout his life. Curtis had an innate ability to make anyone laugh, lighting up any room he entered with his infectious smile and joyful spirit. A man of many talents, Curtis was known for his love of music, playing four different instruments with an enthusiasm that was truly unmatched. His musical talents were complemented by his love for sports. An avid basketball fan, Curtis was a dedicated supporter of the Detroit Pistons, rarely missing a game. His passion for soccer blossomed through his son, TyJi Davis, and he cherished every moment spent cheering from the sidelines. Curtis had a deep appreciation for nature, finding solace in the quiet moments he spent tending to his garden. He took immense joy in planting fruits and vegetables, generously sharing his harvest with friends and neighbors, fostering a sense of community and connection that was central to his character. Curtis is survived by his three children, Nyla Davis, TyJi Davis, and Destiny Davis, who were the pride and joy of his life. They carry forward his legacy of kindness, laughter, and love. He is also survived by his siblings, Mya Cole and Victor Johnson, who stood by him through life's many joys and challenges. Curtis's journey was marked by the love and support of his family, including his parents Shannon and Marcus, who have predeceased him. Their memory lives on in the values and warmth that Curtis instilled in his own family. A service to celebrate Curtis’s life will be held on June 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, located at 10600 Lower River Road, Louisville, KY 40272. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a man who touched so many lives with his laughter, love, and generosity. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hosparus Health and its staff for their compassionate care during Curtis's final days. They wish to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this time, and invite all who knew Curtis to join them in honoring his life and legacy. Curtis Davis will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the joy he brought to those around him will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
