She was 47 years old. Crystal was born on June 11, 1978, in Kansas City, Missouri, to her loving mother, Vicky Smith. From her earliest days, she was a beacon of light and joy, touching the hearts of everyone she encountered. Crystal's journey in life was marked by her unwavering compassion and dedication to others, a trait that guided her through her 25-year career as a nurse in both Pediatric and Emergency Room care. She was known for her willingness to help out and assist however she could, always offering a gentle touch and a comforting smile to those in need. Her colleagues often remarked on her ability to bring calm and reassurance in the most trying of circumstances, a testament to her profound empathy and strength. A proud graduate of Hickman Mills High School in 1996, Crystal pursued further education at Metropolitan Community College, where she graduated with the class of 2014. Her passion for learning and personal growth was evident throughout her life, as she continually sought to expand her knowledge and skills in service of her patients and community. Crystal's personal life was equally rich and fulfilling. On June 11, 2020, she married the love of her life, Matthew Silvey, beginning a beautiful chapter filled with adventure, love, and shared dreams. Together, they traveled the world, exploring new cultures and creating priceless memories that would forever be etched in their hearts. Their nearly six years of marriage were marked by a profound bond and mutual support, growing their families and nurturing a legacy of love that will endure through the ages. A devoted mother and grandmother, Crystal cherished her family above all else. Her nine grandchildren were the light of her life, bringing her immense joy and pride. Her nurturing spirit and boundless love for her family will be remembered and cherished by each of them, as they carry forward her legacy of kindness and warmth.
