Crystal Gail Snyder, a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished daughter, and dear friend to many, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, in the comforting embrace of her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 12, 1981, in Decatur, Alabama, Crystal brought warmth and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Crystal was the beloved daughter of Alan and Anna Lee, who instilled in her a deep sense of family and community. She was predeceased by her sisters Brenda and Heather, whom she always remembered fondly and with love. Crystal is survived by her husband, Chris, with whom she shared a beautiful life since their marriage on November 19, 2011, in Birmingham, Alabama. Together, they raised their daughter Alyssa, who was the light of Crystal's life. Crystal took immense pride in being the best mother she could be, and her love for Alyssa knew no bounds.
Crystal's family extended beyond her home, and she leaves behind her siblings Tim, Mike, Amanda, Rebecca, Kathryn, Amy, Ruby, Tabitha, Helen, and DeAnna. She was a cherished sister, always ready with a kind word or a laugh to share.
For nearly two decades, Crystal was a dedicated employee at Home Depot, where she worked as a cashier. Her colleagues and customers alike were drawn to her friendly demeanor and genuine interest in their lives. Crystal had the unique ability to make everyone feel special, and her presence was a bright spot in many people's days.
Outside of work, Crystal was an adventurer at heart. She loved traveling and exploring new places, often capturing the beauty of the world through her photography. Camping trips were cherished escapes for Crystal, where she found peace and joy in nature. Her passion for life and adventure was matched only by her dedication to her family.
Crystal will be remembered for her infectious sense of humor, her loving nature, and her ability to find joy in the little things. She had a remarkable talent for building relationships and truly getting to know people. Her kindness and warmth were felt by all who encountered her, and her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
As we say goodbye to Crystal, we hold her memory close, grateful for the time we shared and the love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and endless love, which will continue to inspire all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a cancer research foundation, in hopes of finding a cure for this devastating disease.
A celebration of Crystal's life will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, on May 2nd where friends and family will gather to honor and remember the beautiful life she led. Crystal Gail Snyder will forever be missed but never forgotten, as her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loving family and friends.
