It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robert Lee Jones Jr., a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, who departed this life on April 20, 2026, at the age of 71. Robert was born on March 28, 1955, in the warm embrace of Montgomery, Alabama, to his loving parents, the late Robert Lee Jones Sr. and Beatrice Jones.
From a young age, Robert was instilled with the values of integrity, dedication, and love—qualities that he carried with him throughout his life. These attributes guided him to a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Air Force, where he served honorably as a Tech Sergeant. His service to the nation was not just a career; it was a testament to his unwavering commitment to protecting and serving his country with pride and excellence.
Robert was a man of great depth and character, whose life was a testament to love and devotion. He was a pillar of strength for his family and an anchor during times of both joy and adversity. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carrie Martin, whose partnership with Robert was a beacon of enduring love and mutual respect.
A proud father, Robert leaves behind a legacy of love in his children: Petro Jones (Ann), Trinette Jones, Tatianna Jones, Twanda Seawright, Fred Seawright, SGM Johnny Seawright (Ashley), Stephanie Seawright, and Dr. Delvin Seawright. Each of them carries a piece of their father’s spirit, his wisdom, and his kindness.
In the tapestry of Robert’s life, family was the golden thread that wove everything together. He is also survived by his siblings: Cassandra Franklin (Mark), Clifford Jones, and Gloria Watts. His special nephew, Christian Watts, and close cousin, Althea Davis, held a cherished place in his heart, as did all his family members and friends.
Robert is now reunited in eternal peace with his parents, Robert Sr. and Beatrice Jones Jr., his grandparents, John and Artherine Gratton, his brother Kenneth Jones, his sister Cynthia Jones, and his cousin Eric Davis, who predeceased him.
The celebration of Robert’s life and his final farewell will take place on May 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Brassell Cemetery, located at 965 Charlie Brassell Pl., Montgomery, AL 36117. Family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to join in honoring the memory of this remarkable man.
