Obituary for Craig S. Strotman
Craig S. Strotman, a beloved friend, family member, and passionate auto enthusiast, passed away peacefully at his home on February 13, 2026. Born on December 29, 1981, in Jasper, Indiana, Craig's life was a testament to the love of family, the thrill of the race, and the joy found in the company of good friends.
Craig was the cherished son of Gary Strotman and Rhonda Voelkel, who survive him, along with his loving sister, Lindsay Merkel, and his adored nephew, Brycen Merkel. He was predeceased by his grandparents, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. The Strotman family, tightly knit and filled with love, has always been Craig’s foundation and his greatest joy.
A proud graduate of Northeast Dubois, Class of 2000, Craig was a man who turned his passion into his life's work. As the owner of Strotman Renovations LLC, he built a career that was not only a testament to his skill and dedication but also a reflection of his commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Craig's work left a lasting mark on the community he deeply loved.
Beyond the world of business, Craig's heart was in the garage, where he spent countless hours with his beloved Ford Mustang. A true enthusiast, he found happiness in the purr of the engine and the thrill of the open road. His devotion to NASCAR was equally fervent, and the races provided him with endless joy and excitement. Craig's friends, who meant the world to him, will forever remember the laughter and camaraderie shared during these times.
In recognition of Craig's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing family and close friends to honor his life in an intimate setting. Though we gather in private, the outpouring of love from all who knew him is felt deeply by those he leaves behind.
The Strotman family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Craig's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life lived with enthusiasm and kindness.
In celebrating Craig’s life, we remember a man whose spirit will forever race through our hearts, much like the cars he cherished. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the roar of engines and the love of those who have gone before him.
