Celebrating the remarkable life of Coylee "Buddy" Overton Jr., who graced the world for a brief but impactful moment, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Born on July 19, 1961, in Brooklyn, NY, Buddy was the beloved son of Coylee Overton Sr. and Earlene Overton. His time with us was fleeting, but the warmth of his spirit continues to resonate with those who cherished him. Buddy spent his formative years in Brooklyn, where he attended Grover Cleveland High School, laying the foundation for a life filled with laughter and love. He was a dedicated employee at Holiday Inn, where he served as a security officer for 12 years. Known for his unwavering dedication and a knack for making others feel at ease, Buddy was truly a pillar in his community and workplace. His passions were simple, yet they brought him immense joy. Buddy had a fondness for egg foo young, pork skins, and his favorite beverages—Pepsi soda and a cold beer. He was a man of simple pleasures, often found enjoying these treats while trying his luck with a lottery ticket. His love for these small joys in life was infectious and a reminder to all of us to savor each moment. Buddy was predeceased by his loving parents, Coylee Overton Sr. and Earlene Overton, and his dear sister, Regina Overton. Despite these profound losses, he remained a beacon of joy and humor to those around him. Known for his ability to express himself honestly and with humor, Buddy had a unique gift for making people laugh, often brightening the darkest of days with his wit and candor. A service to honor Buddy's life will be held at 1:00 PM at Interboro, located at 344 Evergreen. Friends and family are invited to gather in memory of a man who brought so much laughter and light into the world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to Buddy’s generous spirit and his desire to help others. Buddy Overton Jr. may have left this world too soon, but his legacy of laughter and love lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May we all carry forward his spirit of joy and sincerity, and may he rest in eternal peace.
