Covetta Robinson, a beacon of strength and kindness, passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age of 50, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born on January 17, 1976, in Newark, New Jersey, Covetta was the cherished daughter of Willie James and Monalisa Robinson.
From a young age, Covetta exhibited a spirit of determination and resilience. She graduated from Central High in 1994 and soon after answered the call to serve her country by joining the United States Navy at the age of 19. As a Navy nurse, Covetta's compassion and dedication to her duty were evident to all who served alongside her. She wore her uniform with pride for eight years, embodying the courage, compassion, and discipline that became the hallmarks of her life.
It was during her time in the Navy that Covetta met her beloved Eric Miller. Their love story blossomed, and they shared 24 wonderful years together, filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support. Together, they raised a beautiful daughter, Cheyanne Washington, who was the light of Covetta's life. Covetta's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family as she dedicated over 20 years to her calling as a nurse, touching countless lives with her kindness and care.
Covetta was known for her boundless hospitality and the peace she brought to those around her. She had an avid love for nature, delighted in botanical development, and cherished her time spent outdoors. Her love for animals, especially her loyal dog, was well-known and reflected her generous heart.
Her legacy lives on through her daughter, Cheyanne Washington; her sister, Jessica Howard; her devoted partner, Eric Miller; and her three grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory close. Covetta also leaves behind a multitude of family and friends whose lives were forever enriched by her presence.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Covetta’s remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Covetta's spirit of giving.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown their support and love, and to those who helped make this service possible. In the words of her family, "Rest peacefully, Covetta. You fought your fight. You carried your sword. You carried your shield. And now, you may finally lay them down. Your love remains. Your legacy remains. And you will forever remain in our hearts."
