Cornell Davis Jr
August 8, 1954 — August 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Cornell Davis Jr, who left this world on August 1, 2026. Born on August 8, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA, Cornell was a cherished son, a devoted father, a doting grandfather, and a steadfast friend.
Cornell was the son of the late Dorothy E. Scott and Cornell Davis Sr, who instilled in him a strong sense of duty and family values that he carried throughout his life. He is predeceased by his loving parents and leaves behind a legacy through his children: Spencer, Theron, and Carmelita, as well as his precious grandchildren: Aaron, Amari, and Spencer. His sister, Cheryl, also survives him, cherishing the many memories they shared together. His aunt and uncle, Gloria and Victor. A host of cousins and friends
A proud graduate of Overbrook High School, Cornell was known for his quick wit and his talent for making everyone feel at ease. His dedication to his country was evident through his service in the U.S. Marines, where he exemplified honor and courage.
Cornell's career at Graduated Hospital spanned over two decades, demonstrating a commitment to service and care that extended beyond his professional responsibilities. He retired with the respect and admiration of his colleagues, having impacted countless lives through his work.
As a father and grandfather, Cornell was a guiding light, always ready with words of wisdom and encouragement. His family was his pride and joy, and he found immense pleasure in sharing his experiences and love with his children and grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to honor Cornell's life at a service on August 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lenwood Jones Funeral Homes, located at 5911 Girard Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19151. We will come together to celebrate the life of a man who touched so many hearts with his kindness and generosity.
Cornell Davis Jr will be deeply missed, but his love and legacy will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
