It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Corey Worth. Born on February 23, 1972, in St. Louis, Missouri, Corey departed this world on May 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with a long-time illness. He was 54 years old.
Corey was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Annie Worth, who instilled in him the values of kindness, resilience, and generosity that he carried throughout his life. Edward Worth; his son, Corey Worth Jr.; his daughters, Jalia (Dewayne) and Jalisa; and his treasured grandchildren, Jacob, Candace, and Corian, who were the light of his life.
Corey's journey began in St. Louis, where he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1990. He pursued higher education at Jackson State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Engineering in 1994. Corey’s influence in the workplace was profound and lasting, as he inspired many with his integrity and innovative spirit.
Beyond his professional life, Corey was a man of deep faith, serving as an active member of the First Baptist Church for over a decade. His commitment to his community and church was unwavering, and he found great joy in being part of the vibrant fellowship there.
Corey was a man of many talents and interests. An avid fisherman, he found solace and joy in the quietude of nature. His hands were never idle, as he enjoyed woodworking, crafting pieces of furniture that became cherished family heirlooms, especially for his grandchildren. His creations were more than just wood and nails; they were expressions of love, patience, and artistry.
Those who knew Corey will remember him for his quick wit and warm smile, always ready with a joke to lighten any mood. He had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, a testament to his generous spirit and compassionate heart. Corey’s kindness touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of love and laughter.
A service to celebrate Corey’s life will be held on May 13, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, located at 3100 Bell Ave, St. Louis, MO, 63106.
