July 2, 1991 — June 21, 2026

In loving memory, we announce the passing of Corey Michael Owsley, who departed this world on June 21, 2026, just shy of his 35th birthday. Corey was born on July 2, 1991, and although his time with us was too brief, his impact was profound and everlasting. Corey was the cherished son of Jeffery Alan Owsley and Fredda Doyle, who nurtured his gentle spirit and encouraged his many passions. The love they shared was a testament to the close-knit family that Corey cherished so deeply. He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Sherwood Doyle and Lydia Willis, and his paternal grandparents, Darlene Strother and James Owsley, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into heavenly peace. Corey leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold him in their hearts: his brother Dustin McCallon and wife Haley of DeRidder, Louisiana, and his beloved sisters, Georgie Pollard and Lydia Owsley, alongside her husband Joseph Nunez, both residing in Oakdale, Louisiana. He was a proud uncle to his nephews, Austin Nunez and Koda Hill, and nieces, Kalace, Kaivia, Kaseleigh, and Phoenix McCallon. Corey also delighted in the joy brought by his great-niece, Valerie McCallon. He is also survived by a host of extended family and countless friends who became family over the years. Corey was known for his kindness and unwavering willingness to help others, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. Whether it was a friend in need of a listening ear or a family member seeking advice, Corey was always there, offering support with a gentle smile and a compassionate heart. His presence was a comforting constant, a beacon of warmth and understanding in a world often too hurried. An enthusiast of video games, Corey found joy in the challenge and camaraderie they provided. He cherished evenings spent watching movies with his sister, where they would share laughter and create memories that now live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Music was another of Corey's passions, a soundtrack to his life's journey that soothed his soul and expressed what words sometimes could not. A celebration of Corey's life and legacy will be held on what would have been his 35th birthday, July 2, 2026, at 8:00 AM at the Lighthouse Church, located at 229 George B Mowad Hwy, Oakdale, Louisiana. Family, friends, and all whose lives Corey touched are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived but gone too soon. As we say goodbye to a son, brother, uncle, and friend, we find solace in the knowledge that Corey’s spirit lives on in the acts of kindness he inspired and the love he left behind. While our hearts ache with his passing, we are eternally grateful for the time we had, and we will carry his memory with us always. Rest in peace, dear Corey. You are forever loved and never forgotten.
