Corey was the beloved son of Cornelius Johnson and Tabitha Norwood, and the devoted brother to Karen Johnson-McGhee. Preceded in death by his dear brother Eric Johnson, Corey is now reunited with him in eternal peace. A proud alumnus of Dunbar High School, Corey was a talented athlete who found joy in the camaraderie and competition of basketball and football. His love for sports was only surpassed by his remarkable ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him. Known for his quick wit and infectious humor, Corey had a unique gift for brightening the lives of everyone he encountered. He had an unrivaled ability to make others laugh, even in the most challenging of times, a testament to his resilient spirit and deep compassion. Corey faced the challenges of mental health throughout his life with courage and determination. Despite the struggles he endured, Corey’s heart remained kind and generous, and his spirit, enduring and brave. His untimely passing on that quiet June morning is a poignant reminder of the battles that many face in silence.
