Cora Thornton, a beloved soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met, passed away on September 23, 2026, Born on September 2, 1962, in Tylertown, Mississippi, Cora was a cherished daughter of the late O.C. Thornton and Annie B. Beckum. Her life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. Cora was predeceased by her parents, her siblings Larry, Nellie Jean, and Gregory Thornton, and her beloved great-grandson. Despite these profound losses, Cora remained a beacon of strength and compassion for those around her. Cora is survived by her devoted son, James Donell Thornton, and his wife Timasha, who reside in Menasha, Wisconsin. She was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren, including Jynitna Lewis, James Jr., Donell, MacNeil, Dayshawn, Janiya Mourtry, SirJames, Semaj, Jamya, Jimasha, Jamison, Tevon, Maya Thornton, Malachi Miller, and Javon Barry. Her legacy extends to her 34 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. Cora's siblings, Willie (Madeline) Thornton of Milwaukee, WI, Linda (David) Dantzler of Hattiesburg, MS, Allen Thornton, Curly Thornton and Otis Thornton of Milwaukee, WI, Shirley Thornton and Angela Beckum of Menasha, WI, along with many cherished aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins, will continue to honor her memory and the love she shared with them. Throughout her life, Cora was known for her generous spirit and unwavering support for her family and friends. She was a pillar of strength, offering a listening ear and a comforting presence to all who needed it. Her laughter, wisdom, and enduring faith were sources of inspiration, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Cora's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love and support during this difficult time.
