It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Constance Ruth Vinnedge, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Constance departed this world on May 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 29, 1954, in Cortland, NY, she blessed this world for 72 wonderful years, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Constance was the cherished daughter of Robert and Edith, who predeceased her, along with her sister Debi, brother Bud, and her dear daughter Sara. She was a beacon of strength and compassion, always carrying her family in her heart and honoring the memories of those who went before her. Her life was a testament to resilience and love, qualities she imparted to her surviving family. Constance shared 33 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Russell J. Vinnedge. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter in Preble, NY. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership, nurturing a family that continues to thrive. Constance is survived by her loving husband, her sister Sheri Burns, her brother Micheal Harter, and her sons John (Sarah) Helms and Ryan Vinnedge. Her legacy lives on in her cherished grandchildren, Kara (Parker) Whatley, Rory Vinnedge, Hunter Helms, and Mollie Vinnedge, and her adored great-grandchildren, Presleigh and Kennedy Whatley. A proud graduate of Homer High School, class of 1972, Constance embarked on a diverse career path that showcased her dedication and versatility. She touched countless lives through her work in the food and healthcare industries, with notable roles at Cortland Memorial Hospital, Pompey Country Club, and Tully High School. However, she was perhaps best known as the co-owner of Concrete Renovators INC and The Mountain View, where her leadership and vision positively impacted thousands. Constance's love for cooking was legendary, as was her talent for bringing family together through her culinary creations. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the irresistible aroma of home-cooked meals. Her infectious smile and big heart were the hallmarks of her character, as she endeavored to make each person she met feel valued and uplifted. A service to celebrate Constance's life will be held on July 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at her residence located at 6773 East Homer Baltimore Rd., Preble, NY 13141. Family and friends are invited to gather in her memory, sharing stories and cherishing the moments spent with this remarkable woman. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff and doctors at Upstate University Hospital for their unwavering dedication and compassionate care during Constance's battle with cancer. Their selflessness and professionalism provided immense comfort during a challenging time.
