Constance was the beloved daughter of Hilmer (PeeWee) and Lucille White Brewster. She grew up in Salina, where she attended Salina High School and later pursued higher education at Marymount College and Kansas State University. At K-State, she became an active member of Alpha Delta Pi.
Constance married the love of her life, George Johnson, on August 15, 1954, in Salina. Together, they shared 56 wonderful years filled with adventure and passion. Their love for travel, piloting airplanes, and hot air ballooning was a testament to their adventurous spirits. They were also devoted K-State fans, cheering on their team with fervor.
A dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church, Constance's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She sang in the church choir and contributed tirelessly to her community through various volunteer efforts. Her commitment to the Salina Community Theater, Salina Presbyterian Manor, St. John's Hospital, Salina Regional Medical Center, Salina Public Library, and the Bicentennial Center left a lasting impact. Constance was also a proud member of the Rotary Club.
Constance was known for her remarkable organizational skills and her candid spirit. Her home was a testament to her meticulous nature, with never a thing out of place. She spoke her mind with honesty and loved her family deeply, cherishing every moment spent in their company.
Constance is survived by her loving children, Dan Johnson (Nancy) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Susan Wahle (Rod) of Scottsdale, Arizona. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Bobbi McLaughlin (Tyler), Marty Wahle (Charlotte), Dustin Johnson (Liz), and Grace Anne Shafer, as well as her three great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, George, her parents and brother, Jerry Brewster.
A service to celebrate Constance's life will be held on July 2, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 308 S Eighth St, Salina, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Salina First Presbyterian Church, or Gentiva Hospice, 1003 Albert Ave, Salina KS 67401.
