Constance C. Kennedy

January 14, 1932 — September 9, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Constance C. Kennedy, affectionately known as Connie, on September 9, 2026. Born on January 14, 1932, in Hartford, Connecticut, Connie was a beacon of love, warmth, and kindness throughout her 94 remarkable years. Connie was the cherished daughter of Peter Joseph Coffey and Mary Colehan Coffey. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard B. Kennedy, and her dear sister, Susan Coffey Spelman. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her surviving children, R. Justin Kennedy and his wife Sara; Allison K. Douglas and her husband Bruce; Paul Kennedy and his wife Rachael; and Morgan Kennedy and his wife Sherri. Connie was a devoted grandmother to eight grandchildren and a beloved great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. A proud alumna of Hartford High School and the Hartford Secretarial School, Connie's career began at the Mark Twain Library in her hometown, where her love for knowledge and community blossomed. She further honed her skills as a legal secretary for Robinson, Robinson, and Cole before choosing to focus on her growing family. Later, Connie found joy and fulfillment working for the Yankee Flyer in Bloomfield, a career she lovingly held until her retirement at the age of 80. Connie's life was enriched by her passion for dance. Her fondest memories included weekly tap dancing practices with dear friends Margaret and Mary, culminating in delightful performances on stage at the Bushnell in Hartford. Her enthusiasm for life was evident in her unique decorating style, her love of animals, and her innate ability to light up any room she entered. Connie was renowned for her determination, boundless energy, and her gift for striking up conversations with absolutely anyone. A service to honor and celebrate Connie's life will be held on October 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, located at 26 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to your local food bank, reflecting Connie's lifelong commitment to helping those in need. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Lorraine for her caregiving and friendship, as well as to Companions and Homemakers and Trinity Health hospice for their compassion and support. As we say goodbye to Connie, we hold close the memories of her radiant spirit and the love she shared with everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
