Constance Virginia Courtney

August 4, 1918 — July 7, 2026

With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Constance, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, on July 7, 2026. Constance left us at the age of 107, a testament to a life lived with grace, dignity, and love. Born on August 4, 1918, in Waco, Texas, she was a beacon of kindness and strength to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Constance was predeceased by her beloved husbands, J.B. Myers and H.E. Courtney, and her dear sons, Bryan Myers and Doug Myers. Her legacy is carried forward by her loving daughters: Margie Daniels and her spouse Robert of Medford, Minnesota; Beverly Keller and Frank Bowman of Celeste, Texas; Jane Miller and her spouse Ted of Charlottesville, Virginia; Barbara Abdovis of Houston, Texas; and Michael Courtney of Brenham, Texas. She leaves behind her daughter-in-law Jerry Myers of Texas City, Texas, along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. Constance was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and cherished deeply. A lifelong lover of music, Constance was an esteemed member of the Texas Music Teachers Association. Her passion for music was beautifully expressed through her role as a piano teacher and as the dedicated organist at the First Presbyterian Church, where she shared her gift for over 40 years. Her contributions to the musical community are remembered with great affection and admiration. Beyond her musical endeavors, Constance was a vibrant member of her local Civic Club and Garden Club. She found joy in tending to her garden and participating in orchestra concerts, enriching the lives of those around her with her enthusiasm and zest for life. Her family and friends will gather to celebrate Constance's remarkable life on August 4, 2026, at the Garden of Memories, located at 5205 South First St., Lufkin, Texas. This day marks both her birthday and the day we honor her enduring legacy of love and kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Constance's memory to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to the generous spirit she embodied throughout her life. Constance's warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
