Connie Sue Cowley

August 14, 1961 — July 1, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Connie Sue Cowley. Born on August 14, 1961, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Connie peacefully departed this life on July 1, 2026, at her home in Lindsay, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of her cherished family. Connie was the beloved daughter of the late George Sumpter, Jr. and Letha Faye (Boettler) Sumpter. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Arthur Cowley, her brothers Micheal Sumpter and George Sumpter, III, and her sister, Laura Sumpter. Despite these profound losses, Connie found immense joy and purpose in her family, which she considered her greatest accomplishment and source of pride. Connie is survived by her loving sons, Jason Cowley and Matthew Cowley, who were the light of her life. Her sisters, Kathy Hassler and Hazel Garrison, continue to carry forward the familial bond Connie so deeply cherished. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness, and 3 great-grandchildren, with one more eagerly anticipated. Her special niece, Christie Perry, also held a tender place in her heart. Professionally, Connie dedicated her life to caring for others through her work in housekeeping in a nursing home setting. Her compassionate nature and unwavering work ethic left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working alongside her. Connie had a zest for life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed the thrill of finding hidden treasures in thrift stores and was an avid reader, finding solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. In quieter moments, Connie delighted in playing games on her phone, a pastime she shared with her grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter and love. Above all, Connie's heart belonged to her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each moment a testament to her boundless love and nurturing spirit. Her legacy of love and devotion will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Connie's memory to a charitable organization of choice, celebrating her generous spirit and love for others. A celebration of Connie's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor her memory and the beautiful life she lived. Her warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
