Concetta M. Poli (DeGrandi)
January 6, 1938 — June 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Concetta M. Poli, née DeGrandi, who left us peacefully on June 1, 2026, at the age of 88. Known affectionately as Tina, she was a beacon of love and warmth to all who knew her. Her journey began on January 6, 1938, in the sunlit landscapes of Libya, Africa, where she was born to Carmelo and Litria DeGrandi.
Tina’s early life was marked by a significant voyage across the Atlantic Ocean at the age of 17, when she and her parents made the courageous decision to move to New York. Her determination and resilience were evident from a young age as she embraced her new life, studying English and eventually settling in Philadelphia. It was there she met the love of her life, Antonio Poli, whom she married on December 1, 1962. Together, they crafted a beautiful life, blessed with three children, Robert, Maria, and Tina. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, spanning 58 glorious years filled with laughter, adventures, and countless cherished memories.
Tina and Antonio shared a passion for travel, exploring the enchanting landscapes of Italy, the serene beaches of Aruba, and embarking on captivating cruises. Their adventures were often accompanied by friends, resulting in tales of humor and delight. Yet, despite their worldly travels, Tina’s true sanctuary was her home, where she found joy in the presence of her family.
A woman of strength and dedication, Tina played an integral role in supporting Antonio as they built a successful concrete business. Her commitment and hard work were matched only by her devotion to her family, whom she considered her greatest achievement. Her legacy is carried on by her loving children: Robert (Joan), Maria Andreoni (Richard), and Tina Szylejko (Thomas), as well as her cherished grandchildren: Stephanie, Teresa (Nicholas), Robert (Ciara), Carl (Maria), Antonio (Dardiyani), Gabriella (Michael), Alexa, Marco (Valentina), and Mario. Her spirit lives on in her great-grandchildren: Michael, Nicholas, Luca, Jack, and Robert, as well as her dear cousin Salvatore Cassia.
Tina was predeceased by her beloved parents, Carmelo and Litria, and her devoted husband, Antonio. The family takes solace in knowing that she is now reunited with them, embraced in eternal peace.
A celebration of Tina’s life will be held on June 9, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Maternity BVM Church, located at 9220 Bustleton Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s/Dementia charities, in honor of Tina’s memory and her enduring spirit of compassion and care.
Tina’s life was a beautiful testament to love, resilience, and family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of warmth, kindness, and laughter will continue to inspire and guide all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
