Concetta Bellone Vassallo, a beloved matriarch, devoted wife, and cherished friend, passed away suddenly on May 29, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on November 8, 1954, in the picturesque town of Valguarnera Caropepe, Sicily, Concetta was the cherished daughter of the late Marie Palermo Bellone and Michael Bellone. She was preceded in death by her dear parents and her brothers, Francesco and Ugo Bellone.
Concetta's life was a testament to love, kindness, and selflessness. She was a pillar of strength and warmth for her family, which includes her devoted husband, Salvatore Vassallo, and her three loving sons, Joseph, Michael, and Salvatore. Her family was her pride and joy, and she adored her five grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Shannon, Erin, Savannah, and Mason who were the light of her life.
Having completed her high school education, Concetta dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a nursing assistant at Vanderbuilt Nursing Home. Her compassion and dedication to her patients were unmatched, and she was revered by colleagues and residents alike for her tireless commitment and gentle spirit.
Concetta's talents were as boundless as her generosity. She possessed an artistic flair that she expressed through painting and creating beautiful ceramics. Her love for arts and crafts was only rivaled by her passion for cooking, where she was known for feeding everyone who came into her home with delicious meals made from the heart. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort, where stories were shared, and laughter was abundant.
Those who knew Concetta will forever remember her as a loving, giving soul who always put others before herself. Her selflessness and ability to light up a room with her presence made her a treasured friend to many. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
A service to honor the extraordinary life of Concetta Bellone Vassallo will be held on June 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Scalia’s Funeral Home, located at 28 Eltingville Blvd. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who will be missed but never forgotten.
