August 2, 1995 — July 10, 2026

It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of Colton Allen Smith on July 10, 2026, at his home, surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 2, 1995, in Des Moines, Iowa, Colton graced this world with his vibrant spirit and contagious laughter for nearly 31 years. Colton was the beloved son of Tim Smith and Chantelle Johnson, who instilled in him the values of hard work and kindness. As a father, Colton's world revolved around his cherished daughter, Izzabella Kay Sutton, who was his pride and joy. His devotion to Izzabella was evident in every aspect of his life, as he spent countless hours sharing his love for the outdoors with her, teaching her how to fish, and creating memories filled with laughter and adventure. In his professional life, Colton found fulfillment in the construction industry, where he honed his skills and earned the respect of his colleagues. More recently, he discovered a new passion as a cook in a small, family-run shop, where he delighted in serving delicious meals and brightening the days of all who passed through. Colton had a magnetic personality, known for his quick wit and playful spirit. He was a prankster at heart, always ready with a joke to share with his brothers and cousins, leaving them in stitches with his humor. His laughter and mischievous grin will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A celebration of Colton's life will be held on August 2, 2026, at 23:40 at Haines Park. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Colton are invited to join in commemorating the joy and love he brought into this world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Colton's memory to a charity of your choice that supports outdoor activities for children, reflecting his passion for nature and his dedication to fostering a love for the outdoors in future generations. As we say goodbye to Colton, we hold onto the countless beautiful memories shared with him and find comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on in the laughter of his daughter and the hearts of those he touched.
