It is with a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Coleman Mcmillian, who left this world on July 14, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on May 7, 1933, in the charming town of Hinesville, Georgia, Coleman lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service until he succumbed to a rare form of cancer. The beloved son of Elize and Charles Mcmillian, Coleman grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. He was predeceased by his children, Colman Mcmillian Jr., David Mcmillian, and Debra Smith, as well as his brothers, James, Robert, Sam, and Prince, and his sisters, Salle Ma and Jean Ruth. His journey on Earth was enriched with cherished memories and countless stories that he shared with his surviving family members, who will continue to celebrate his legacy. Coleman is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Thomas, who stood by his side through all the seasons of life. He leaves behind his children: Sherry Marshall Broadhurst, Zelma Mcmillian, Cheryl Grimes, Carline Cook, and Keith McNeal; his stepchildren, Karen McNeal, Kelvin McNeal, Rena, and Andre McNeal; his sister-in-law, Lillian Taylor; his brother, Reverend Carl Williams; and his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In total, Coleman is survived by 23 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who will always hold dear the lessons, laughter, and love he imparted to them. His lifelong friend, Mr. John King, who shared many of the adventures and trials of life with him since childhood, will also carry Coleman's memory forward. Coleman graduated from Glennville High School in 1955 and dedicated his career to the education system, serving as a school custodian. His kindness and dedication left a lasting impression on the students and colleagues who had the privilege of knowing him. A man of faith and commitment, Coleman was a respected member of the First African Baptist Church in Glennville, Georgia. His church community will miss his warm presence and the unwavering dedication he demonstrated over the years. A celebration of Coleman's life will be held on July 20, 2026, at 12:15 PM at the First African Baptist Church, located at 1113 Church Dr. Family, friends, and all who knew Coleman are invited to attend and honor his memory. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available through the funeral home's website. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Coleman's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting the spirit of generosity and compassion that Coleman embodied throughout his life.
