Coleen M. Jacobs

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Coleen M. Jacobs, who departed this world on August 5, 2026. Born on March 26, 1960, in the warm embrace of Nacogdoches, Texas, Coleen was the beloved daughter of the late Evason and Alice Jacobs. She was a cherished sister, a devoted mother, and a treasured friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion. Coleen spent her formative years in Independence, Missouri, where she graduated from Truman High School. Her professional journey was marked by dedication and service, beginning with her role as a Medical Office Receptionist at Research Medical Center, where she worked for three years. Her commitment to helping others continued at ReStart, where she served as a Receptionist, and later at the Kansas City Convention Center, where her efforts in setting up events left a lasting impression over her four-year tenure. Her generous spirit extended beyond her professional endeavors to her volunteer work with Morning Glory Ministries. Coleen devoted four years to this cause, serving food and providing necessities to those in need, reflecting her lifelong commitment to her community. Coleen's leisure time was filled with joy and laughter. She had an undeniable love for playing Bingo and cherished moments spent with her neighbors, partaking in various activities that brought them together. Her sweet personality and infectious smile were her trademarks, making her a joy to be around. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, embodying the essence of love and compassion. Coleen leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Sherrelle and Wesley, her siblings, Jayson and Ebby, and an extended family including nieces Angela, Ebony, and Rodnika, and nephews Jayson Jr., Randall Briggs Jr., Tetrus, Taj, and Jayshawn. She is now reunited with her predeceased family members, including her parents, brothers Rodney and Evason Jr., sister Audrey Briggs, and nephews Laron Briggs and Rodney Jacobs Jr., in eternal peace. A celebration of Coleen's life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Serenity Funeral Home, located at 1101 Bannister Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to The Groves for their kind and wonderful care during Coleen's final days. In honor of Coleen's memory, the family suggests donations be made to organizations that support community service and care for those in need, reflecting the values that Coleen held dear throughout her life. May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be a guiding light for all who knew her.
