It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cole Gilbert, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend, who left this world far too soon on March 1, 2026. Born on January 20, 1978, in Kokomo, Indiana, Cole's life was a beacon of warmth, dedication, and compassion that touched all who knew him. Cole was the cherished son of Jim and Sue Gilbert, who instilled in him values of hard work, integrity, and kindness. These qualities shone brightly throughout Cole's life, guiding him as he pursued his passion for helping others. He earned his Doctor of Psychiatric Medicine from Michigan University and dedicated his career to supporting those in need. A hard-working man, Cole was known for his commitment to his patients and his unyielding desire to make the world a better place, even when he found it difficult to follow his own medical advice. Cole's life was tragically cut short due to a work-related incident, a testament to his unwavering dedication to his profession. His passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who loved him and those whose lives he touched. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge life presented. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Rex, Ronnie, and Roxanne, who were the pride and joy of Cole's life. He adored his family and found immense happiness in their achievements and unique personalities. Beyond his professional life, Cole was a man of diverse interests and passions. He found solace and joy in the great outdoors, particularly through fishing and shooting. These hobbies allowed him to connect with nature and provided cherished moments of peace and reflection. Cole was also an avid motorsports enthusiast, reveling in the thrill and excitement it brought him. Cole's life will be honored in a private ceremony, in accordance with the family's wishes. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the indelible mark he left on all who knew him. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the legacy of kindness, love, and dedication that Cole leaves behind. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched with his gentle spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of choice, in honor of Cole's lifelong commitment to helping others. Rest in peace, dear Cole. You will be deeply missed and eternally remembered.
