It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Clydus D. Irvin, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on September 11, 2026. Born on May 28, 1964, in the vibrant city of Memphis, Tennessee, Clydus was the cherished son of Claudia Marie Irvin. He was predeceased by his loving mother, Claudia Irvin, his grandmother, Faira Temple, and his daughter, Pecola Vassar, who now welcome him into their eternal embrace. Clydus was a devoted father to his children, Travis Vassar, Comella Vassar, Clydus Vassar, and Cassell Irvin, who were the light of his life. He was also a cherished brother to Coronda Irvin and Terrance Nicholson, and a doting grandfather to eight grandchildren: Antonio Echoles, Terrion Vassar, Terraneka, Sequia Harris, Aniya, Clydus III, Chloe, and a great-grandchild, Armani Thompson. His family was further enriched by his three nieces, Chanice, Charell, and Keidris Jones, his nephew, Arking Jones, and a beloved aunt. Clydus's family ties extended to a host of cousins, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Clydus's professional journey was marked by his dedication as a mechanical engineer, a career that mirrored his passion for fixing cars and understanding the intricacies of machinery. His ingenuity and skill were matched only by his love for cooking, a hobby that brought joy to his family and friends, as he often shared his culinary creations with those he cherished. Known for his quick and warm smile, Clydus had the innate ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. His sense of humor was legendary, with a joke always ready to lighten any mood. His kindness and generosity were boundless, touching countless lives and leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. Clydus shared a special bond with his dear friend Ebony, who stood by him through thick and thin, embodying the true essence of friendship.
