Clyde Thompson

Clyde Thompson, a belove, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born in Galveston, Texas, on October 4, 1955, Clyde was the cherished son of the late Willie Mae Hanks and Isaiah Thompson II. Clyde was preceded in death by his loving parents, his grandson Clyde Thompson II, his brother Larry Thompson, sisters Debra Woods and Barbara Walton, and cherished niece and nephew, Natalie Thompson, Tara Thompson, and Reginald Woods. His memory will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Youlander Jackson, whom he met and married after moving to Houston, and their beloved son, Clyde Thompson Jr. He is also survived by his treasured grandkids, Kirrah, Roderick, and Robert Thompson, his brother Nathaniel Thompson and his wife Carolyn, Isaiah Thompson, Sharon Noble, Lionel Thompson, Sidney Thompson, Surely Thompson, and a host of nieces and nephews. Clyde attended public school in Galveston, Texas, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with laughter and camaraderie. He dedicated many years to his career at A Rocket, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Beyond his professional life, Clyde was a man of faith, having given his life to Christ at an early age. His spirituality was a guiding light, reflected in his kindness and generosity to all who knew him. Known for his infectious humor, Clyde was the family comedian, a jokester who could effortlessly bring smiles and laughter to any room. He loved nothing more than gathering with family and friends to BBQ and play dominoes, creating joyful memories that will be cherished . As his family fondly remembers him, Clyde's legacy of love, laughter, and community will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. As his son, Clyde Jr., lovingly shares, "Pop, you will be truly missed. I will miss the daily phone calls and the time spent together. I will continue to make you proud.
