Clyde Alsaker

Services for Clyde Alsaker will be held at Woodland Hills on Friday, September 4th of 2026 at 1 pm. A 21 gun salute will be followed by a service given by Mike Omtvedt. Please join us for a Celebration of life, following the service, at the American Legion. Locations: Woodland Hills Memorial Park 1605 Woodland Avenue Mankato American Legion 256 Belgrade Avenue North Mankato It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Clyde Alsaker on August 29, 2026. Born on July 21, 1941, in the town of St. James, Minnesota, Clyde was the son of Darwin and Alveda Alsaker. Clyde graduated from West High school. He pursued further education in a mechanical trade school in St. Louis. This passion for engineering led him to enlist in the United States Navy, where he served honorably from 1960 to 1964 aboard the USS Hissem. Upon returning to Mankato, Clyde embarked on a distinguished career at Kato Engineering. Clyde's life was enriched by his wife, Sally A. Jackson Alsaker, with whom he shared countless adventures. They shared the love of classic cars, car clubs, cruises and game nights with friends. He leaves behind his devoted children: Carrieann, married to Todd Schlager; Jason Alsaker; Pat Johnston; and Micheal Johnston, married to Miranda. He was the adored grandfather to five grandchildren: Derek Alsaker, Hailey Schlager, Dyllon Johnston, Collin Johnston, and Anthony Johnston, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Clyde's love for the great outdoors was evident in his hobbies. He found solace in fishing, hunting and camping. Clyde’s playful spirit shone through by his jokes and quick Wit. He enjoyed inventing fun and unique gifts. Clyde Alsaker's legacy is one of love, laughter, and boundless ingenuity. His memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say goodbye to a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, we celebrate a life well-lived and a soul that touched our hearts profoundly. May he rest in peace.
