July 12, 1947 — May 30, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Climmie L. Alexander-Price, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on May 30, 2026, at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, following complications from a brain bleed after a fall. Climmie was 78 years old.
Born on July 12, 1947, in the quaint town of Warren, Arkansas, Climmie was the beloved daughter of Helen Louise Pennington Ragar and Myzell Henry Alexander. She was raised in a home filled with warmth and love, alongside her siblings Frances, Maxie, Cordell, Ira, Jean, Shirley, Sandra, Walter Brown, Joedenia, Willey Buckner, and Myzell Edward Alexander.
In 1962, Climmie married the love of her life, Hurley L. Price Sr., in Rison, Arkansas. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter, welcoming their children Vera, Annette, Hurley Jr., and Allison. Climmie's heart was one that overflowed with love, and she found immense joy in caring for her family, who will forever remember her as a beacon of strength and compassion.
Climmie was a devoted caregiver, dedicating many years of her life to serving the Warren Bradley County Human Services. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of many children and families, leaving an indelible mark on her community. Her dedication extended beyond her professional life, as she was an active and beloved member of St. Paul AME Church, where her faith and kindness inspired those around her.
A woman of simple pleasures, Climmie had a zest for life that was evident in her love for cooking and feeding those she cared about. Her home was often filled with the comforting aromas of her culinary creations, and her presence at garage sales was as sure as the morning sun. She delighted in finding treasures and sharing them with others, her laughter and warmth a gift to everyone she met.
Climmie was blessed with a large and loving family, including 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love and family unity. Her memory will also be cherished by her surviving siblings Shirley, Sandra, Walter Brown, Joedenia, Willey Buckner, and Myzell Edward Alexander, along with countless friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hurley L. Price Sr., her sister Frances, brothers Maxie, Cordell, Ira, and Jean, and her daughter Valice Nicole. Though the pain of their loss is profound, we find comfort in knowing they are reunited in eternal peace.
A celebration of Climmie's life will be held at 11:00 AM on November 6, 2026, at St. Paul AME Church, located at 4525 Diamond Drive, Madison, WI 53714. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Paul AME Church in Climmie's honor, ensuring her legacy of love and service continues to enrich the lives of others.
Climmie's life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and unwavering faith. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be touched by her grace. She will be dearly missed and always remembered.
