Clifton Earl Brockington

Clifton Earl Brockington, a beloved and devoted father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home on July 19, 2026, at the age of 43. Born on April 30, 1983, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Clifton's life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication. The son of Dianne Brockington (Wesley, step-dad) and James Peoples, Clifton was cherished by his family. He was predeceased by his cherished relatives Nathaniel Clayton known as Dad, Dossie Pittman-Brockington, James Brockington, and Bessie Peoples. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in his children, Nydasia, Kyliak, Kenyis, and Chrystiana Brockington, who were the light of his life. Clifton is also survived by his siblings Phontina Brockington, James Brockington, Orlando Brockington, Nathaniel Clayton, Brittney Clayton, Monek Clayton, Shaun Clayton, Quatisha Tucker, Joshua Dales, and Jarrod Peoples, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and godbrothers Percell Jones, James Joyner, Ronnie Richardson, and Rahien James. Also his special friends Shelli Odom, Jessica Sykes , and Christina Brake. Clifton's educational journey took him through Northern Nash High School and onto Miracle Tabernacle Christian School, where he received his high school diploma. He further enhanced his skills by obtaining his Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in Lexington, NC, which fueled his passion for traveling and exploring the open road. Professionally, Clifton was a dedicated worker who spent time at Room Store Furniture in Rocky Mount and Barnes Trucking in Wilson, NC, before embarking on a successful venture as a self-employed truck driver. His career allowed him to travel to over 20 states, a testament to his love for adventure and exploration. Clifton was a man of deep faith, attending Praise City Christian Center in Rocky Mount, NC, where he spent most Sundays offering praise and honor to God. His commitment to his faith was evident in his daily interactions, where he shared God’s word and left a lasting spiritual impact on everyone he met. Known for his infectious smile and welcoming spirit, Clifton was a beacon of encouragement and positivity. His kindness, wisdom, and laughter left an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His devotion to his family and friends was unwavering, and his memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who knew him. A service to honor and celebrate the life of Clifton Earl Brockington will be held on August 1, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Morning Star Church of Christ, located at 225 S Glendale Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27801. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in Clifton’s memory. Though Clifton's physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit and the love he shared will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. His life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and dedication, and he will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
