Clifford Maxwell Rutledge
January 12, 1962 — April 28, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Clifford Maxwell Rutledge, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, on April 28, 2026. Clifford, fondly known as "Cliff" to those who cherished him, was born on January 12, 1962, in Minnesota. He was the cherished son of Edward and Alice Rutledge, who predeceased him.
Cliff leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth through his devoted wife, Carla Jean Frohm Rutledge, with whom he shared 37 remarkable years of marriage. Cliff and Carla's journey began on September 2, 1989, and together, they built a life rich with love and laughter. Their enduring partnership was blessed with two sons, including their late son, Kyle Frohm, who predeceased Cliff, and their surviving son, Dustin, who carries forward his father's spirit alongside his wife, Micah.
A doting grandfather, Cliff found immense joy in his grandchildren, Ryker, Riley Marie, and Slater. His eyes would light up with pride as he watched them grow, and he cherished every moment spent cheering them on at their baseball games or sharing stories of his own childhood adventures in Minnesota.
A dedicated professional, Cliff devoted 31 years of his life to his career as a Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI), where he was respected not only for his expertise but also for his unwavering integrity and kindness. His colleagues remember him as a man who approached every challenge with determination and a smile.
Cliff's passions extended beyond his professional life. A true enthusiast of football, he could often be found cheering for his favorite team, sharing that excitement with family and friends. He also had a deep love for classic cars, particularly his cherished 1968 Camaro, which he lovingly restored over the years. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies for Cliff; they were opportunities to connect with nature and spend quality time with those he held dear.
In every aspect of his life, Cliff embodied the qualities of a true gentleman. To know him was to love him, and his generosity of spirit touched countless lives. He was never too busy to make time for his wife or to grab dinner with his sons. His laughter was infectious, and his ability to befriend anyone he met was a testament to his open heart and welcoming nature.
Cliff's passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his memory will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort. His life was a testament to love, kindness, and the importance of family.
A private ceremony to honor Cliff's life will be held, per his family's wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to honor Cliff's memory consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, reflecting Cliff's spirit of giving and community.
As we bid farewell to Cliff, we hold onto the warmth of his memory, knowing that his legacy of love and friendship will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
