In Loving Memory
Clifford Maxwell Rutledge
January 12, 1962 — April 28, 2026
With hearts heavy yet filled with gratitude for the time shared, we announce the unexpected passing of Clifford Maxwell Rutledge, who left us on April 28, 2026. Born on January 12, 1962, Cliff was a beacon of kindness and warmth to all who knew him. His presence enriched the lives of family and friends, creating a legacy that will endure in every heart he touched.
Cliff was the beloved son of Edward and Alice Rutledge, who predeceased him. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He shared 36 beautiful years of marriage with his cherished wife, Carla Jean Frohm Rutledge, whom he married on September 1, 1990. Together, they nurtured a family grounded in love, raising two wonderful sons, one of whom, Kyle Frohm, also predeceased him. Cliff's enduring love and devotion will forever remain with his surviving son, Dustin, and his wife Micah, as well as his adored grandchildren, Ryker, Riley Marie, and Slater, who brought immense joy to his life.
Cliff was a man of simple pleasures and profound connections. He found joy in the tranquility of nature, often found with a fishing rod in hand or exploring the woods on a hunting trip. His passion for restoring a 1968 Camaro alongside his sons was more than a hobby; it was a testament to the bonds he cherished. Football Sundays were a ritual, where the thrill of the game was amplified by laughter and cheering with his family and friends.
To know Cliff was to understand the depth of his generosity and kindness. He was never too busy to join his son for dinner or to cheer on his grandson at his baseball games. His open-hearted nature earned him the friendship of many, leaving behind a community that mourns the loss of a man who made everyone feel like family.
In addition to his family and friends, Cliff leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those who knew him. His life was a testament to the power of kindness, and his memory will forever remain a guiding light for those he loved.
At Cliff's request, a private ceremony will be held to honor his life, allowing his family to say goodbye in the intimacy of their shared love and memories. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Cliff's memory, a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much of himself to others.
In these moments of reflection, we remember Clifford Maxwell Rutledge not for the loss we feel, but for the love and joy he brought into our lives. His spirit remains with us, a gentle reminder that though he may be gone, he will never be forgotten.
