It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clem DeBose, a remarkable man whose life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and an unwavering love for family and animals. Clem departed this world peacefully on April 16, 2026, surrounded by love and warmth in an Arizona hospital. He was 81 years old.
Born on July 5, 1944, in the quaint town of Hughes, Arkansas, Clem was the cherished son of Master and Ruth DeBose. Growing up in a large family, he was one of ten children, and learned the values of hard work and compassion early in life. These values stayed with him throughout his journey, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Clem was predeceased by his parents, Master and Ruth DeBose; his beloved brothers, Charles and Willie; his dear sister, Ruth Waters; and his cherished wives, Mary Jean and Constance, who each held a precious place in his heart.
A devoted father, Clem is survived by his loving children: Cynthia, Regina, Belinda, Angela, Deon, and Steven. His legacy also lives on through his siblings, Master, Clarence, Lee, Sarah, Refus, and Lois, who will forever remember and celebrate his life. Clem was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of his life and the pride of his heart.
Clem's career was marked by dedication and resilience. He worked in several factories, eventually retiring from Steelcase, where he was admired for his work ethic and camaraderie. Outside of his professional life, Clem had a zest for adventure and a passion for the extraordinary. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, finding freedom and joy on the open road. His love for exotic animals was legendary; Clem transformed his home into a vibrant menagerie, captivating family and friends alike with his knowledge and care for these unique creatures.
His kindness and generosity knew no bounds. Clem was always ready to lend a helping hand, share a warm smile, or offer sage advice. He was a man who lived his life with open arms and an open heart, teaching those around him the true meaning of compassion.
A celebration of Clem's life will take place on June 20, 2026, at Palmer Park. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Clem's warmth are invited to gather and honor a life lived with purpose and love.
Clem DeBose's legacy will forever be cherished, and his spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say goodbye to a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, we find comfort in the beautiful memories he leaves behind, knowing he is now at peace, reunited with those he loved and missed.
