He was raised in a warm and loving home alongside his siblings and was deeply influenced by the values of family and community. Claudio’s life was a testament to the virtues of kindness, humor, and open-hearted generosity.
In 1953, Claudio married the love of his life, Eduvigen Benavidez, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Tortugas, New Mexico. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and shared adventures, raising four children: Claudio Mirabal Jr. (Rachel), Becky Garcia (Vince), Beatrice Lucio (Terry), and Lorraine Ballardo (Aldo). Claudio served his country with honor and pride, in the United States Army serving active duty in Germany from 1956 to 1958. He continued his service in the Army Reserves until 1965, embodying the spirit of a true patriot who loved his country deeply.
In 1965, Claudio moved his family to California, where he embarked on a fulfilling career with McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach. Claudio was a man of many talents and interests, known for his love of music, walks with his faithful dog, and passion for watching football and baseball. A devoted Raiders fan, Claudio also delighted in feeding the birds and cherished every moment spent with his large family.
A man of faith, Claudio was a dedicated member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church for over 20 years. His service and commitment extended beyond his family and faith community, as he volunteered for the Hemet Police Department, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to helping others.
Claudio is predeceased by his parents, David and Rosa, his beloved wife Eduvigen, his brother Orlando (Sonny) Mirabal, sister Minerva (Vivi) Apodaca, and grandson Jared Lucio.
