It is with heavy hearts yet with deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Claudia Seversen, who departed this world peacefully on April 12, 2026, at the age of 86. Claudia's journey began in Lubbock, Texas, on July 2, 1939, born to Joseph and Ida Henderson, who instilled in her the values of faith, love, and resilience that would define her life. Claudia's remarkable life was a testament to love and dedication. She met and married her first love, Jimmy Rhodes, in 1955, and together they welcomed a daughter, Debra, who became the light of Claudia's life. Though Claudia experienced other loves throughout her life, her devotion to her family remained steadfast and unwavering. A woman of intellect and ambition, Claudia earned a Master's Degree in Business, channeling her skills into a successful career in property management. Her professional endeavors were complemented by her passion for ballroom dancing, a pursuit in which she excelled and won numerous competitions, gracing the dance floor with her undeniable talent and poise. Claudia was a woman deeply rooted in her faith, a devoted member of the Central Baptist Church in Crossville, Tennessee, for the past three years. Her commitment to her beliefs was evident in her participation in church activities and her volunteer work at The Preserve of Fairfield Glade, where she taught exercise classes, bringing joy and vitality to those around her. Those who knew Claudia will remember her for her contagious smile and her insatiable passion for learning about her Lord, Jesus. Her love for a good political debate and her daily prayers for the country were reflections of her spirited character and deep-seated values. Claudia leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Stephanie Pruter and her husband, Brad, and James Gizzi and his wife, Gabrielle, who were the pride of her life. Claudia's seven great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Dean, Eden, Cyrus, Alice, Dolly, and Wilder, will carry forward her spirit and warmth. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Steve Gizzi, and his wife, Ronda, who were an integral part of her family. Claudia was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Ida, and her cherished daughter, Debra Gizzi, whose passing left an indelible mark on her heart. Yet, she found solace in her faith, clinging to the cross of her Savior, Jesus Christ, until her final breath. In honoring Claudia's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate her life. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the administration and staff at The Preserve of Fairfield Glade for their compassionate care during Claudia's final days. We are also deeply grateful to her church friends, Bible study companions, and the many special friends at The Preserve who enriched her life with prayers, scripture, and unwavering love. Claudia Seversen touched the lives of many with her grace, wisdom, and kindness. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
