With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Claudia Mckithen, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on January 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Born in the charming town of Florence, South Carolina, on February 6, 1969, Claudia's life was a testament to love, resilience, and unyielding devotion to her family and community. Claudia was the cherished daughter of Earl and Clarita Wilson, who instilled in her a deep sense of compassion and strength. Throughout her life, she carried their legacy forward with grace and dignity, always seeking to uplift those around her. Claudia was preceded in death by her dear siblings, Boonie, Earl Jr., Rosa, and Pearl, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond that transcended time and distance. In the early 1990s, Claudia found her soulmate in Lorenzo Mckithen, and together they built a life filled with love and joy. Their union was blessed with two beautiful children, James and Susan, who were the light of Claudia's life. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support shaped them into the remarkable individuals they are today. Claudia's love and wisdom extended to her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Claudia's warmth and generosity touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends. Her home was a sanctuary of love and laughter, where she welcomed all with open arms and a kind smile. Her faith and dedication to her community were evident in her active involvement with New Zion Baptist Church, where she was a guiding light and a source of inspiration to many. While we mourn her passing, we find solace in the incredible legacy she leaves behind. Claudia's spirit will forever be a beacon of hope and love for those who knew her. Her family, including her devoted husband Lorenzo, her cherished children James and Susan, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, will continue to carry her memory in their hearts, honoring her life by living with the same kindness and strength she exemplified. A service to celebrate Claudia's life will be held on January 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at the New Zion Baptist gravesite, located at 3436 Cale Yarbrough Highway, Timmonsville, SC. Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects to a woman whose life was a beautiful testament to love and resilience. We extend our deepest gratitude to those who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.
