Born on April 24, 1931, in the quaint town of Adin, California, Clarice lived a life that touched the hearts of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. Clarice was born to Robert and Rhoda McGarva, who instilled in her the values of compassion and strength. She grew up alongside her siblings, Muriel Grove, Ned McGarva, and George McGarva, with whom she shared a bond that only deepened through the years. Clarice excelled academically and graduated from Modoc High School in 1949, where she met the love of her life, Bill Lee. They were married on October 22, 1949, beginning a beautiful journey together filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, Clarice and Bill built a warm and welcoming home, rooted in love and shared dreams. Though Bill preceded her in death, their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, cherished by all who knew them. Clarice was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose nurturing spirit was the foundation of her family. She leaves behind a loving family that includes ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life. Clarice was a woman of grace and strength, who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her gentle spirit and generous heart were evident in every interaction, whether she was tending to her garden, preparing a family meal, or sharing stories with her loved ones. Her warmth and kindness were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The family extends their sincere gratitude to all the dedicated staff and caregivers at Modoc Medical Center and Mountain View Skilled Nursing Facility for their exceptional care and compassion during Clarice's final days. Their support provided comfort and peace to both Clarice and her family during this difficult time.
