Clarence James Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at his cherished home in the Caribbean. Born on July 16, 1950, Clarence's journey began in the embrace of the Caribbean, a place he held dear throughout his life. Clarence was the devoted son of Mary and Clarence James, both of whom predeceased him, along with his dear sister Annie James. His family roots were deep and profound, instilling in him a strong sense of love and commitment that he carried with him throughout his life. In 1991, Clarence married the love of his life, Mary James, in a beautiful ceremony in Antigua, Caribbean. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, filled with laughter, support, and shared dreams. Together, they raised a wonderful family, leaving behind memories that will be cherished by his six children: Sarah James, Ashley James Stewart, Madison James Summons, Isaiah James, Clarence James Jr., and Steve James. Clarence was also a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. Clarence dedicated many years of his life to serving his community as a bus driver. His gentle nature and unwavering patience made him a favorite among passengers and colleagues alike. Beyond his professional life, Clarence had a passion for running track and horseback riding, activities that brought him immense joy and a sense of freedom. A service to honor Clarence's life will be held on September 15, 2026, at 8:19 AM, at Barnes Funeral Home Noel Chapel in St. John, Antigua, W.I. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Clarence are invited to gather and celebrate his remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Clarence's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization close to his heart. This gesture will continue Clarence's legacy of kindness and support for those in need. Clarence James Sr. will be remembered as a man of great kindness, generosity, and love. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
