June 26, 1930 — September 24, 2026

Clarence Howard Wagner, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on September 24, 2026. Born on June 26, 1930, in Phoenix, Arizona, Clarence was the cherished son of John and Mary Wagner. Clarence's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication. He graduated from high school in Phoenix in 1948, and soon after, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the military where he served honorably until 1956. Following his military service, he embarked on various jobs throughout Phoenix before his journey led him to North Platte, Nebraska. There, he found not only a career with the Union Pacific Railroad but also his second love, June Yager, whom he married in 1979. Family was the cornerstone of Clarence's life. He was blessed with two sons, Howie and Jerry Wagner, from his first marriage to Sherry Donovan. Sherry, his first love, passed tragically in 1962, but her memory lived on in the hearts of their children. Clarence's heart expanded further when he welcomed his stepchildren, Wade, Jessy, Stella, and Barbara Yager, into his life with June. Clarence was a man of many talents and passions. An avid woodworker, he found joy in crafting with his hands. His baking was legendary, and his homemade bread and pizza crusts were a staple of family gatherings. Whether it was a deck of cards or a board game, Clarence relished the simple pleasure of time spent in the company of loved ones, often sprinkling in his signature humor and pranks that kept everyone on their toes. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Sherry, his second wife June, his brother Jonathan Wagner, and his sister Annabelle Davis. Clarence is survived by his sons Howie and Jerry, his stepchildren Wade, Jessy, Stella, and Barbara, along with 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of love and laughter. Clarence's warmth and generosity touched many lives, and his family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who supported him, particularly his dedicated caregivers who enabled him to remain in the comfort of his home until his final day. A celebration of Clarence's life will be held on October 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at SCANDO HALL, 7575 Crown Point Ave, Omaha, NE 68134 family and friends will gather to honor his memory and the joy he brought into the world. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, as Clarence would have wished.
