Clarence Hike

December 3, 1977 — May 27, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence Hike, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, on May 27, 2026. Born on December 3, 1977, in Macon, Georgia, Clarence was a beacon of kindness and strength to all who knew him. His life was a testament to unwavering devotion and service, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. Clarence was the cherished son of Lina Mae and Clarence Hike Sr., who preceded him in death, along with his siblings, Phebe H. Jones, Delores H. Danielly, Angela H. Rozier, Samuel Hike, Philip Hike, Cedric Hike, and Michael Hike. Despite the loss of his parents and siblings, Clarence carried forward their legacy of love and resilience, always guided by the values instilled in him from a young age. Educated in the Bibb County School System, Clarence went on to become a dedicated employee at Warner Robins Air Force Base, where his commitment to excellence and his helpful nature were evident in every task he undertook. His career was marked by a steadfast dedication, and he was admired by colleagues and friends alike for his integrity and work ethic. Clarence's personal life was a reflection of his deep love and commitment. He married the love of his life, Ilene Hike, and together they built a wonderful life over many cherished years. Their partnership was a source of immense joy and strength, and together they raised their beloved daughter, Jennifer Hike Rawls, who was a source of great pride and happiness for Clarence. A passionate member of Bethel CME Church, Clarence served faithfully as both an usher and on the Steward Board. His contributions to the church community were numerous and came from a place of genuine faith and devotion. Clarence was also known for his love of volunteering with Emergency Management, where his selfless spirit and desire to help others shone brightly. Clarence's warmth and generosity extended beyond his immediate family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ilene Hike; his daughter, Jennifer Hike (Desmond); sister-in-law, Juanita Waller; brother-in-laws, Joseph Waller (Willette) and James Waller; and a circle of devoted friends who cherished his presence and held him in the highest regard. Clarence will be remembered for his helpful nature, his unwavering kindness, and the profound impact he had on everyone he met. His life was a blessing, and his memory will forever be a treasure to those who loved him. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he led and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. A memorial service to honor Clarence's life will be held at Bethel CME Church, where friends and family will gather to pay tribute to a remarkable man who touched countless lives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to organizations supporting Emergency Management—a cause Clarence held dear to his heart. Rest in peace, dear Clarence. Your light will continue to guide us, and your love will remain with us always.
