Clara Mae Holder

November 25, 1937 — April 23, 2026

It is with profound sadness and reverence that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Clara Mae Holder, who departed this world peacefully on April 23, 2026, at the Providence St. Catherine Nursing Home. Born on November 25, 1937, in the quaint town of Flynn, Texas, Clara was a beacon of kindness, strength, and love throughout her 88 years of life. Clara was the cherished daughter of Wallace and Maggie Dawkins, whose nurturing spirits shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. The warmth of her hometown in Leon County was always reflected in the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Clara's journey through life was one filled with love, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to her family. In 1947, Clara united in marriage with Luther Corsey, with whom she shared a deep bond until his passing. She later found love again with Harold Holder, and together they crafted a life rich in love and companionship. Clara was preceded in death by her devoted husbands, Luther and Harold, her beloved sons, James and Larry Aaron (affectionately known as Pete) Corsey, and her siblings, sisters Mattie Fuller and Alma Jones, and brother Bobby (Gene) Dawkins. Her legacy lives on through her surviving sons, Terry Corsey and his wife Wanda of Waco, and Kevin Corsey and his wife Tonya of Mart, Texas. Clara's family was the heart of her world, and she held her daughter-in-law, Jean Corsey of Waco, close to her heart, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Jamie, Michael, Tracy, Shawn, and James Corsey Jr., who were her pride and joy. Clara's life was further enriched by the love and companionship of her surviving siblings, including Eunice McCoy of Mart, Shirley Johnson and her husband Ray of Mexia, Virginia Jackson and her husband Ken, Deloris Medlock and her husband Danny of Mart, Rosie Busby of Waco, Mary Wagner and her husband Kenneth of Desoto, and brother James Dawkins of Mexia. Her special cousin, Martha McKinthy of Houston, was a source of endless support and friendship. Throughout her life, Clara was surrounded by a host of special nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who were touched by her generosity and warmth. She was a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing her, imparting lessons of love, compassion, and resilience. Clara Mae Holder's life was a testament to the power of love and family. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion that will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. Though she has left this earthly realm, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. A celebration of Clara's life will be held at a future date, where family and friends will gather to honor the beautiful life she led and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Clara's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others. Rest in peace, dear Clara. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, and you are loved beyond words.
