Claire Poisson Wells

July 6, 1952 — October 18, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Claire Poisson Wells on October 18, 2026, after a courageous 11-year battle with cancer. Born on July 6, 1952, in Claremont, NH, Claire was a beacon of warmth and kindness, whose life was a testament to strength, perseverance, and the enduring power of love. Claire was the cherished daughter of Eva T. Poisson and Normand G. Poisson, who predeceased her, along with her brothers David, Dennis, and Donald Poisson, and her beloved husband, Jeffrey Wells. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Jeffrey, with whom she built a life centered on love and family. Together, they raised two wonderful children: Steven Wells, married to Christie Getman, and Lynn Little, married to Mark Little. Claire's legacy of love and kindness continues in her four treasured grandchildren, Rylee, Olivia, and Brady Little, and Griffin Getman-Wells, who were the light of her life. Claire graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1970 and furthered her education at Claremont Vocational Technical College. Her professional life was marked by dedication and compassion, working as an office manager at Claremont Pediatric Specialists with Dr. Lanzer and Dr. Blair, as well as Associates in Medicine/Pediatrics. Her commitment to her work was matched by her involvement in the community, as a member of the Claremont Jaycee Women, where she made lasting friendships and contributed to numerous community initiatives. Claire found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time with her family, and her home was often filled with laughter and warmth. An avid camper, she cherished the peace of the great outdoors and could always be found curled up with a good book, her imagination taking her to new worlds. Known for her kind and caring nature, Claire touched the lives of everyone she met. Her battle with cancer was a testament to her indomitable spirit, but her life was so much more than her illness—a tapestry woven with love, kindness, and unwavering strength. In memory of Claire, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Claire’s generous spirit and her commitment to helping others. Claire Poisson Wells will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Claire Poisson Wells welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
