It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Claire E. Llewellyn, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Claire departed this world peacefully at her home on April 21, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories. Born on November 12, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Claire was the daughter of Charles E. White Jr. and Cecilia A. White (née Maginn). She grew up in a household filled with warmth and values that she carried throughout her life. Claire's academic journey led her to graduate from Glen Nor High School in 1950. Her passion for learning and exploration found a home at the University of Pennsylvania's geology department, where she worked diligently and formed lifelong friendships. In the winter of 1951, Claire married her high school sweetheart, George "Louie" Llewellyn, on December 26th. Their union was a testament to enduring love, filled with joy, adventure, and unwavering support, lasting a remarkable 48 years until Louie's passing. Together, they built a family that became Claire's greatest pride and joy. As a devoted mother, Claire was the heart and soul of her family. She is survived by her loving children: Patricia J. Perentesis and her husband George, George Michael Llewellyn and his wife Zulema, Kenneth Llewellyn, Cecilia Lanuto, Daniel Llewellyn, and Katherine Llewellyn. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, Katina Velez, Jennifer Llewellyn, George Michael Llewellyn III, Timothy Llewellyn, Derek Lanuto, Gavin, DJ, Braeden, Dustin, and Brandon, ten in total, as well as eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Claire's legacy is further carried on by her dear sister, Jeanette Deckert. Later in life, after raising her children, Claire embarked on a fulfilling career as a travel agent. Her enthusiasm for discovering new places and cultures was infectious, and she delighted in helping others plan their journeys, ensuring each trip was filled with unforgettable experiences. Claire's gentle spirit and compassionate nature touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a beacon of kindness and wisdom, always ready with a listening ear and a comforting word. Her home was a haven of love, laughter, and countless gatherings that brought family and friends together. The Llewellyn family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Vitas Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness during Claire's final days. Your support has been invaluable, and we will be forever grateful for your compassion. In accordance with Claire's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her life and bid farewell in the company of her closest family members. As we celebrate Claire's remarkable journey, we are reminded of the profound impact she had on all those around her. Her spirit will continue to guide us, living on in the hearts of everyone she touched. Claire E. Llewellyn will be dearly missed, but her love and legacy will forever remain an integral part of our lives.
