Cindy Sheree Drake
February 19, 1958 — July 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cindy Sheree Drake, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us on July 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung disease. Born on February 19, 1958, in Seattle, Washington, Cindy was a beacon of light to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cindy was the cherished daughter of Carole and Thomas Philips, who instilled in her the values of kindness and resilience. She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband, William L. Drake, who passed away in 2023.
Raised on Bainbridge Island, Cindy graduated and embarked on a career in the banking and mortgage industry. Her journey began as a teller, and she skillfully worked her way up to become an MI underwriter, a role she embraced with dedication until her retirement in 2011.
Cindy's life was rich with love and family. She first met George Salanga on Bainbridge Island, and together they welcomed their daughter, Lisa Salanga. Cindy later married William Drake in 1989, with whom she shared a life full of companionship and joy until his passing. She leaves behind her daughter Lisa and son-in-law Scott Schick, her grandson Thomas Schick, Her sister Heather and brother-in-law Jeff Shelby, Nathan and Hannah Shelby, Daryl Shelby, Addison Shelby, Emmajoy Shelby, and Maggie Shelby. Cindy was blessed with one grandson who she loved very much.
Her best friend, Vickie Hobbs, will deeply miss her vibrant presence. Cindy was known for her social nature, quick wit, and a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her warm smile and open arms created a haven of love and laughter for those around her.
Cindy found joy in many things, from reading and crocheting to traveling and soaking up the sun. She had a penchant for visiting the casino, where her laughter echoed the sound of winning bells. Her life was a tapestry of experiences woven together with love and shared with family and friends.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Kindred Hospital in Las Vegas for their compassionate care during Cindy's final days. She will be forever in our hearts.
Cindy Sheree Drake's legacy of warmth, kindness, and humor will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She has left an indelible mark on this world, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be touched by her love.
