July 13, 1969 — June 7, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cindy Brown, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, fiancée, and friend, who departed this life on June 7, 2026, after a sudden illness. Born on July 13, 1969, in Morris, Illinois, Cindy's vibrant presence touched the lives of all who knew her. Cindy was the cherished daughter of the late Henry and Anna Racinowski (neé Bouwman), and the treasured sister to her predeceased siblings, Kathleen "Kathy" Proud, Carol Racinowski, Robert "Bobby" Racinowski Sr., and Ronald "Casey" Racinowski. Despite the heartache of these losses, Cindy's spirit remained unbreakable, embodying resilience, warmth, and endless generosity. She leaves behind her devoted fiancé, Allen Brown, with whom she shared a remarkable journey. Their love story began with a marriage on June 8, 1990. Though their paths diverged, fate brought them back together in 2021, rekindling a love that only grew stronger with time. Cindy was a loving and dedicated mother to her children, Chris (Ashley) Day of Tennessee, Tara Brown of Mazon, IL, and Jeffrey Brown of Coal City, IL. Her legacy of love continues through her three adored granddaughters, Stella Brown, Gracie Enk, and Emma Day, who were the lights of her life. Cindy's career was as diverse as her interests. She embraced many roles, from babysitting to bartending, working as a cashier in gas stations, and serving as a line operator at Chicago Aerosol. However, it was in her role as a home health aide that Cindy found her true calling, providing care and compassion to those in need. A graduate of Coal City High School, class of 1987, Cindy was a woman of varied passions. She found immense joy in planting flowers each spring, turning her garden into a vibrant tapestry of color. A master in the kitchen, she delighted in baking and cooking meals so hearty they could feed the whole neighborhood. Cindy's curiosity led her to explore new recipes, ensuring that her culinary repertoire was as vast as her heart. Family gatherings were often filled with laughter and friendly competition around the card table, and she cherished binge-watching her favorite shows, always on the lookout for new stories to explore. Cindy was known for her kindness and generosity. She had a gift for storytelling, often sharing memories that brought smiles and laughter to those around her. Her ability to reminisce and connect through shared experiences made her a cherished presence at any gathering. A service celebrating Cindy's life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Reeves Funeral Home, located at 75 N Broadway St, Coal City, IL 60416. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering a life well-lived and the love she so freely gave. Everyone is encouraged to join the family at her residence after for a luncheon to continue celebrating Cindy's spirit. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, IL, for their compassionate care and unwavering support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with unexpected costs or to Lightways Hospice at https://lightways.org/donate/.
