Chuck Glasco was born on January 9, 1948 in Portland, OR. He was the third child of Charles Norman Glasco Sr. and Leaona Viola Glasco (nee Billups). He grew up and attended school in Portland, graduating in 1966 from David Douglas High School. He moved to Oregon City in 2010 and Sweet Home in 2015.
In 1979, Chuck took over his father’s business, Al & Chuck’s Sanitary Service. He ran that business until 1990 when he became an Independent Dump Truck Driver for his own company, Chuck Glasco Trucking, hauling dirt, gravel, and asphalt. Chuck loved being a truck driver, but was unable to continue that profession after 1999, due to knee replacement surgeries.
Chuck met Vicki in 1980 and they married on July 18, 1981, followed with a honeymoon cruise to St. Croix, Nassau and Puerto Rico. Despite Vicki’s fear of water, Chuck booked the cruise anyway. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Debbie and Christi. This past July, they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. With a generous gift from their church family, they had a nice trip to the coast, including lunch at Georgie’s (their favorite restaurant).
A few things about Chuck that may surprise you. He was a black belt in taekwondo, certified scuba diver and instructor, did some commercial fishing as a teenager, was a reserve officer for Multnomah County, and had his pilot’s license. He loved watching football, particularly the Oregon Ducks, and the Portland Trailblazers were his favorite basketball team. Cooking BBQ at home or for large groups was a joy for Chuck. He delighted in all things Christmas. In his adult years, he developed a love for golf.
His love of golf inadvertently led him to Jesus. While Vicki and Christi attended church on Sundays, Chuck (who wasn’t a Christian at the time), would go golfing with his friends. One day, their favorite golf course was vandalized. It was a full year before the course was repaired. Chuck began attending church during that time and was baptized in 2000! God truly does work all things for good…
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles (1979) and Leaona (2011), as well as his sister, Norma, and brother, Victor.

Poem / Prayer
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
I Saw the Light
by Hank Williams
I wandered so aimless, life filled with sin
I wouldn’t let my dear Saviour in
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
Praise the Lord, I saw the light.
(CHORUS)
I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I’m so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light.
Just like a blind man, I wandered along
Worries and fears I claimed for my own
Then like the blind man that God gave back his sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light.
(CHORUS)
I was a fool to wander and stray
Straight is the gate and narrow’s the way
Now I have traded the wrong for the right
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
(CHORUS)
