Born on August 6, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, Christopher was a beacon of kindness, wisdom, and warmth, touching the lives of many with his gentle spirit and unwavering love. Christopher was the beloved son of John and Mary Powell, who predeceased him but left a legacy of love and integrity that Christopher carried forward in his own life. Growing up in Detroit, Christopher was deeply rooted in the community, where he became known for his generous heart and his dedication to those around him. His parents instilled in him the values of hard work, compassion, and resilience, which became the cornerstone of his character. A devoted family man, Christopher was blessed with a large and loving family, which he cherished above all else. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, always ready to lend a listening ear, share a story, or offer a comforting embrace. His family was his pride and joy, and he delighted in the laughter and love that filled their gatherings. Christopher leaves behind a legacy of 26 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom will carry forward his spirit of kindness and generosity. Christopher's life will be celebrated at a service on May 4, 2026, at 9:30 AM, held at James H. Cole Funeral Homes, located at 16100 Schaefer Hwy, Detroit, MI 48235. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Christopher are warmly invited to attend and share in the remembrance of a life that was rich with love and joy. As we say goodbye to Christopher, we hold in our hearts the countless memories of his laughter, his wisdom, and his unwavering love. He was a man who lived with purpose and grace, always putting others before himself and finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
