In Loving Memory

Christopher M Calli SR
September 14, 1972 — May 1, 2026
It is with heavy yet grateful hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher M. Calli Sr., a cherished father, son, and veteran, who left this world on May 1, 2026, at the Saginaw MI VA Compassionate Living Center. Born on September 14, 1972, at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Arcadia, California, Christopher lived a life rich with service, love, and laughter.
Christopher was the beloved son of Ben Calli and the late Patricia Hubbell. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Grace Calli of Carson City, NV, his mother Patricia Hubbell of Arcadia, CA, and his Aunt Lila Hubbell of Reno, NV. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his son, Christopher M. Calli Jr., of Mount Pleasant, MI, and his father and stepmother, Ben and Kat Calli of Quentin, NM. Although he did not have grandchildren or great-grandchildren, he shared his affection with many through his vibrant spirit.
A proud alumnus of Tehachapi High School, Christopher graduated in June 1990 and quickly took to the seas, dedicating four years to the United States Naval Submarine Force. Rising to the rank of SK3(SS), he further served in the Army Air National Guard as an Armorer SPC. His commitment to his country was unwavering, and he was an active member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the USCCA, where he found camaraderie and purpose.
Christopher's career was as varied as it was fulfilling. He co-owned CalEck Tile, where his artistry and craftsmanship left a lasting mark on both commercial and residential spaces. His talents extended into property management, maintenance, and freelancing as a residential property maintenance mechanic. His work ethic was matched only by his enthusiasm for life.
An adventurer at heart, Christopher loved fishing, boating, and "wrenching," always eager to embark on a new journey. His greatest joy, however, was spending quality time with his son, Christopher Jr., whose first vehicle fund can be supported at this link. Christopher's love for animals was well-known; he surrounded himself with the warmth of ferrets, dogs, and cats, giving them the love and care they deserved.
Christopher's infectious smile could light up the darkest room, and his quick wit and humor brought joy to all who knew him. His support for fellow veterans was steadfast, and his love for life and liberty was inspiring.
The Calli family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to MyMichigan Midland Hospital for their compassionate care, and to the Saginaw MI VA staff for their incredible service and support of Christopher and all veterans. Their devotion to care and kindness will always be remembered.
As per Christopher's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christopher Jr. 1st Vehicle Fund.
Christopher M. Calli Sr. will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. His legacy of love, service, and joy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
