Christopher James Williams

March 18, 1964 — April 8, 2026

Christopher James Williams, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on April 8, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on March 18, 1964, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Christopher was a man whose life was filled with love, laughter, and kindness—a man who truly never met a stranger. Christopher was the cherished son of Wayne and Sandra Watkins Williams, who preceded him in death, along with his brothers, Rodney Williams and Todd Scott Williams. He was a beacon of strength and compassion, carrying forward the legacy of love and unity instilled in him by his parents. His life was a testament to hard work and dedication. For many years, Christopher embraced the open road as a truck driver, where he not only found a career but a community of colleagues and friends. Later, he channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into various ventures, always driven by the desire to provide for his family and contribute meaningfully to his community. Christopher's heart was as vast as the open waters he loved to fish. Whether casting a line on a peaceful morning or tinkering in his expansive garage—his sanctuary of creativity and curiosity—he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His garage was more than just a place for tools; it was a hub for community, where he welcomed anyone in need of assistance or a friendly chat. A devoted husband, Christopher shared 42 beautiful years with his wife, Rhonda McManus Williams, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. Together, they built a loving family that was the center of Christopher's world. He is survived by his daughter Amanda Grindstaff and her husband Hunter, and his son Christopher Williams and his partner Casey. He was a proud grandfather to three cherished grandchildren: Miles, Neelie, and Jack, who brought him endless joy and pride. Christopher also leaves behind his brothers, Perry Williams and Kevin Williams, who, along with numerous extended family members, will miss his warmth and camaraderie. His presence was a comforting constant, and his legacy of love and generosity will be felt by all who had the privilege to know him. In lieu of a public ceremony, a private funeral will be held to honor Christopher's wishes. His family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and asks that those who wish to remember Christopher do so by sharing a kind word or gesture, continuing his legacy of never meeting a stranger. Christopher James Williams will be remembered as a man of integrity and heart, whose life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and family. He leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.
