In Loving Memory of Christopher Plowright
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Plowright on October 12, 2026, at the age of 79 after a brief battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Abbotsford, Chris had deep roots in the community and maintained strong ties to the place he always called home.
Chris shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Joanne. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and many cherished memories.
Chris spent his working career as a proud high school principal, beginning in Abbotsford before moving to Delta. Throughout his career, he dedicated himself to education and the school communities he served.
In retirement, Chris enjoyed travelling with Joanne, making the most of their time together and creating new memories along the way.
Chris had a sharp sense of humour and loved a good one-liner. His quick wit and perfectly timed comments brought laughter to those around him and were a memorable part of who he was.
Above all, family was the most important part of Chris’s life. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who treasured every moment spent with his family. His four grandchildren, Taylor, Brody, Tyler, and Alexis, held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the time they shared together.
Chris will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Joanne; his son, Erick, and daughter-in-law, Jenny; his daughter, Jill, and son-in-law, Adam; and his beloved grandchildren, Taylor, Brody, Tyler, and Alexis.
Chris will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the BC Cancer Foundation.

Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace. Amen.
