Christopher J Grinstaff

July 27, 1998 — June 30, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher J Grinstaff, a cherished son, devoted father, and beloved fiancé. Christopher left this world on June 30, 2026, at the age of 27. Born on July 27, 1998, in Metairie, Louisiana, Christopher's life was a testament to love, loyalty, and compassion. Christopher was the beloved son of Michael and Louise Grinstaff, who survive him, along with his cherished daughter, Maddison Grinstaff, and his devoted fiancée Gabriella Naylor, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love. He was a loving family man who found joy and fulfillment in his roles as a partner and father. He proudly attended St. Mary Magdalen, John Q. Adams, and Grace King High School, Christopher pursued a career with River City Security, where he was known for his dedication and professionalism. His colleagues remember him as a reliable and compassionate presence, always ready to lend a hand. Christopher's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid photographer with a keen eye for capturing the beauty of people and landscapes. His love for photography was matched only by his enthusiasm for sports; he excelled in baseball and soccer, and he derived great pleasure from the thrill of drag racing and the camaraderie of playing pool. A true sports enthusiast, Christopher was an ardent LSU fan, often found cheering for his team with unwavering spirit. His caring and loyal nature was evident in his relationships with family and friends. Christopher was a beacon of support, always standing up for those he felt were being treated unjustly. His kindness and empathy left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Christopher was predeceased by his loving grandparents, Benjamin and Dorothy Giovingo, and James Jr. and Eileen Grinstaff, as well as his brothers Benjamin and Anthony Grinstaff, his Uncle James Grinstaff III, his Nannie-Mary Killett, and cousin Dominic Giovingo. He is survived by his parents, his uncles Frank, Mickey (Dorothy), and Joseph Giovingo, brother in law Bill Killett, and cousins Billy and Valerie Killett, Vincent Giovingo, and aunts Angie Wyatt (Darren) and Julie Giovingo. He is also mourned by his future in-laws Amy Mathes (Jason) and Michael Naylor (Crystal). A service to celebrate Christopher's life will be held on July 17, 2026, at 9:00 AM - 11:00 at Greenwood Funeral Home, located at 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 followed by a mass in the chapel. Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of a life lived with love and integrity. Christopher J Grinstaff will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
