Christopher Harry Dick July 5, 1959 - April 2, 2025 It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Christopher Harry Dick, a cherished friend, brother, and devoted pet parent, on April 2, 2025, following a climbing accident on Mount Rainier. Born on July 5, 1959, in the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon, Chris lived a life full of adventure, warmth, and generosity that touched the hearts of everyone he met. Chris was the beloved son of Polly Merriam and was predeceased by his father, Harvey Dick. He shared an unbreakable bond with his sister, Kathy, and his steadfast best friend, Christine Rose, with whom he shared countless memories since they celebrated their friendship on January 1, 2012. Chris's loving spirit extended to his treasured feline companions, Lido and Spencer, who brought him immense joy and comfort. Educated at Jesuit High School in Beaverton, Oregon, Chris furthered his academic journey at Southern Oregon State University and the University of Oregon. His professional life was marked by a successful career in advertising and as an HVAC and maintenance salesman for Comfort Mechanical in Tacoma, WA, where his dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. Chris dedicated much of his time to serving his community. A passionate leader, he served as Chair of the Board for the Salvation Army and was an esteemed member of the Board of Directors for the YMCA, where his commitment to helping others and improving lives was evident in every endeavor he undertook. A true adventurer at heart, Chris found solace and excitement in the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. He was a passionate climber of Mount Rainier and Tiger Mountain, and his love for hiking and scuba diving took him to breathtaking landscapes and undersea worlds that fueled his endless curiosity and zest for life. Chris was known for his genuine kindness, his ability to forge deep connections, and his unwavering loyalty to his friends and family. He was a great friend to many, always ready with a listening ear, a word of encouragement, or a reason to laugh. To Lido and Spencer, he was not just a caregiver, but a devoted dad whose heart knew no bounds. As we say goodbye to Chris, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. His adventurous soul, compassionate heart, and selfless dedication to others will remain in our memories forever. A celebration of Chris's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor his legacy and share the stories and love that he so freely gave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chris's name to the Salvation Army or the YMCA, organizations that were dear to his heart. Rest in peace, dear Chris. May your next journey be as remarkable and full of love as the life you led.
